It feels nice being settled in. After a month+ of trying to get our financial situation figured out and able to purchase a home, we were finally able to move in at the beginning of October. Our parents were gracious enough to give us some furniture that were just sitting in storage - we scored a dining room set, bookshelves, and a bedroom set. My mom also got us beautiful leather living room furniture as our housewarming present. I love being home-owners. It feels nice knowing that we own this place, and we can do whatever we want with it. We've been trying to keep it cleaner than we did when we were at the apartment, and I think we're doing a fairly decent job. We have a long ways to go before we can be anything like the clean-freak that my mom is, but we're on the right track.
So far we've had two small parties here - a housewarming party, and a RockBand party. We had a great turnout for both (even if some of the guests were people I haven't seen since I graduated high school in 2003), and it was nice knowing that our friends were willing to drive all the way out here to play with us!
I have so many ideas on what I would like to do with this house - adding some lights along the sidewalks, painting a couple of rooms, framing more pictures, etc. I can't wait to slowly turn this place into my first dream home with Jason. :)
