So I started and finished Candide by Voltaire today. It's an short and amusing little satire of French society. I liked it. Mainly because it was short.

I liked this part (Candide obtained some red sheep from Eldorado, but then after some problems, he was only left with one that he cared for a lot):
"To his sorrow, however, he had to part with his sheep. He gave it to the Bordeaux Academy of Science, whose annual prize was awarded that year to the author of the best essay on the subject of why this sheep's wool was red. The winner was a scholar from the North who demonstrated by A plus B minus C divided by Z that the sheep had to be red and would die of sheep-pox."
