Two researchers diagrammed the political inclinations of the United States Senate beginning in the 1800s, and ending in the year 2000. Although there were some senators in the extreme right and left, the majority of the senators were labelled "moderate". It is in the middle of the political spectrum that the graph peaks. As the diagrams continue, however, the graph splits apart down the middle, and you get two new peaks - one on the right side of the graph, and one on the left. By the year 2000, the graph resembles the hideous "Asian" emoticon ^_^. Basically, our country is splitting into two groups that cannot reconcile their differences, while both sides use the word 'bi-partisanship' without really practicing it.

While the split may cause issues to be forced to the middle ground, the fact that almost none of America is sitting in the middle ground means that few people will be happy with the outcome. And as we all know, whenever two sides have an irreconcileable disagreement, some sort of war will ensue.

Ah, John Titor. If this is the future you tried to warn us about, we're in for some shit.
